He had sought treatment alternatives and doctors informed him that the illness would not have allowed him long life.
Dr.Fiona Wilcox, a senior coroner, recorded that the cause of death was a gunshot wound and concluded that terminal cancer pushed Mosley to commit suicide.

Mosley informed his assistant of his intentions the night before he was found dead with the personal assistant having tried to dissuade him in vain.
Bernie Ecclestone, ex-formula 1 Boss, was shocked on learning of his death. He said the world would remember him for making motorsport safer.
“He did a lot of good things not just for motorsport, also the industry. He was very good at making sure people built safe cars.”Ecclestone stated.
The late Mosley was instrumental in the promotion of road safety and green technology in F1 during his period as president of the Federation Internationale de L'Automobile(FIA), the governing body of F1 racing and a non-profit representing motoring interests worldwide.
