Russian Oligarch and Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich reportedly suffered symptoms of suspected poisoning after a peace meeting in Kyiv in early March.

Abramovich together with two Ukrainian peace negotiators had red eyes, constant and painful tearing as well as peeling of skin on the face and hands after the meeting of March 3.

According to sources close to the oligarch, Abramovich was blinded for a few hours and later had trouble eating.

This came after he toured Moscow, Belarus and other negotiating venues since the beginning of the Russian invasion.

Insiders familiar with the matter blamed the suspected attack on hard liners in Moscow who they claim wanted to sabotage peace negotiations.

Western experts who investigated the issue added that it was difficult to determine whether the reaction was caused by a chemical or biological agent, or some sort of electromagnetic -radiation attack.

Moreover, it was too late for the suspected poison to be detected by the time a German forensic team performed the examination.

The investigation was led by Christo Grozev, an investigator with Bellingcat open-source collective who concluded that a Russian team had poisoned opposition politician Alexei Navalny with a nerve agent in 2020.

Grozev said that he had seen images of the effects of the attack on Abramovich and the other two negotiators.

“It was not intended to kill, it was just a warning.” said Grovez.

Bellingcat noted that the three men consumed only chocolate and water in the hours before the symptoms began.
