After seeing off South Sudan 1-0 on Saturday, Harambee Stars will be seeking revenge when they host a much improved Taifa Stars side in the first of their two friendly matches at Nyayo National stadium.
Elvis Rupia's half volley 12 minutes from time gifted Jacob Ghost Mulee a much needed win against the Bright Stars on Saturday, a result that boosted the team’s confidence after poor shows against the Comoros in November 2020.
Kenya currently sit 3rd in Group G of the 2021 qualifiers and need their next opponents (Egypt and Togo) to lose all their remaining fixtures to have any realistic chance of making it to Cameroon next year.
Jacob 'Ghost' Mulee's Stars will host the Pharaohs at Kasarani Stadium on March 22 before flying out to Lome to take on bottom-rooted Togo on March 29.
Today’s match against Taifa Stars will be the first of back to back matches that the two teams will be playing in Nairobi. This afternoon’s encounter will be played at Nyayo stadium with the other at Kasarani stadium on Thursday March 18 , kick off 7pm.
"I was satisfied with the boys’ performance against South Sudan bearing in mind that most of them were making their senior team debuts. Though some of them looked a bit timid I think they gave their best, and that’s quite encouraging," said Mulee after Saturday's game.
