Beckham Spends 12 Hrs on Queue to Honour Queen Elizabeth

England veteran, David Beckham, joined thousands of mourners to pay their respect to Queen Elizabeth II whose body is lying in state in Westminster. 

UK journalist Peter Saull confirmed that Beckham spent 12 hours in the queue as he waited to pay his respect.  

The former Manchester United star took pictures with fans who were in the queue causing disruptions.

Beckham, who spoke to reporters noted that he was able to interact with people who gave special accounts of the queen. 

"This day was always going to be a difficult day. Our thoughts are with the family, it's very special to hear all of the stories from people here. 

"The most special moment for me was to receive my OBE. I took my grandparents with me who were huge royalists. 

"I was so lucky that I was able to have a few moments like that in my life to be around Her Majesty. 

"It's a sad day, but one to remember,” Beckham stated. 

The coffin of the Queen has been on display since Wednesday, September 14, with mourners given four days to pay their respects. 

The queen passed away on September 8, and her state funeral is set to take place on September 19.
