
Steven Gerrard was relieved of his duty as Aston Villa's manager after losing 3-0 to Fulham.
The former Rangers manager, who succeeded Dean Smith at Villa Park in November 2021, has struggled since the start of the 2022/2023 season.
After the loss, Gerrard expressed his frustration with the team, noting that it was a tough night for the fans and him too.

“We would like to thank Steven for his hard work and commitment and wish him well for the future," A club spokesperson noted.
The former Liverpool skipper had, however, expressed his willingness to continue with the job despite the loss.
"It's tough but I'm a man, I accept it... I understand it, I can feel their frustration, I'm frustrated with them [too].
"It was a tough night for me, personally. I understand the situation we are in. I am a fighter and I will never quit. We will see what happens,” Gerrard told Prime Video post-match.
The 42-year-old manager, despite the dismissal still travelled back to Birmingham with the team.
Aston Villa is currently 17th in the Premier League table, having won two of their last 10 matches.
Villa Captain John McGinn apologised to the travelling fans for the team's dismal performance.
