Three Kenyan athletes, namely Kibiwott Kandie, Sabastian Sawe and Daniel Mateiko, are set to battle it out at the 2022 Valencia Half Marathon.
The three who are among the top ten all-time best half marathon runners in history will be racing on Sunday, October 23.
Kibiwott will be making his return to action at the same venue where he set the previous world half marathon record in December 2020.

The record was, however, broken by Uganda's Jacob Kiplimo, who shed one second off in the 2021 edition.
Sawe will be heading into the race on top form, having run his personal best time in March to win the Roma Ostia half marathon.
Mateiko, on the other hand, will be hoping to break his jinx of finishing second in Valencia after finishing his last race at the N Kolay Istanbul Half Marathon in March 2022.
The race will also see female athletes participate in the field event. Vicoty Chepngeno and Margaret Chelimo will be hoping to be successful in a sporting event.
The Valencia Half Marathon is arguably the fastest course in the world, as out of the top ten fastest times in half marathons, the course has six.
History has been made in previous races in the marathon held in Spain. In October 2021, Ethiopia’s Letesenbet Gidey made a mark for herself after finishing the race at a record time of 1:02:52.
