Head Coach Dennis Mwanja called on the players to be more consistent in phase play as the Lionesses take on Uganda.

The Wednesday, November 2 match will be the Lionesses' second match after defeating Zambia 35-17 to lead Pool B by five points.

Kenya tops the group by virtue of scoring four tries that secured them the bonus point while Uganda is on four points, having missed out on a bonus point despite defeating Zambia with a similar score.

Speaking on Monday, evening, October 31, Mwanja pointed out that despite the 36-17 win the girls were bullied physically.

“We didn’t start off as we expected against Zambia. We played in the wrong territory, we were not kicking tactically and we did not use our opportunities well.

“We also did not have consistency in our phase play. The girls were bullied physically; their body position was off. The ball also didn’t flow in the back line,” Mwanja noted.

Ahead of the match the team also received a motivational call from the KRU Director of Women’s Rugby, Peris Mukoko.
