“If at all like they say the Qatar league is simple, then I believe everybody could be scoring hattricks week in and week out.

“I am not trying to defend myself because I know my worth and I know the talent that I have. At the end of the day, it is just a matter of just believing in yourself.

“I do not have a problem with anybody criticizing any decision I make regarding my career. I am comfortable wherever I am and I am happy to play here in the Qatar Super League,” Olunga noted.

Olunga was the QSL 2021/2022 league top scorer with  24 goals in 20 matches.

The 28-year-old, who plays for Qatari club Al-Duhail, also noted that he is open to a move to a different league if it is beneficial to him.

Olunga noted that his dream team would be to play for Real Madrid a club he crossed paths with when he was on loan at Girona.

The prolific striker also called for the government to support Kenyan athletes who represent the country on international stages.

He noted that the government shares the blame when such athletes are unable to compete at top-level competitions. Also Read: Kenyans to Receive Fully-Furnished Houses Used in Qatar World Cup
