
The Kenya National Sevens Rugby side, Shujaa, have been pooled in a tough group ahead of the Cape Town 7s slated for Friday, December 9 to Sunday, December 11, 2022 in South Africa.
Shujaa, who finished 11th at the recently held Dubai 7s have been grouped alongside heavy weights New Zealand, Spain and Argentina.
“Shujaa have been placed in Pool C for the third round of the Sevens World Series in Cape Town, South Africa from 9-11 December 2022.

“The side is up against New Zealand, Argentina and Spain.
“The team garnered 5 points from the just concluded Dubai 7s, a result that sees them climb up one place on the season standing to 14th with 6 points,” read part of the statement from the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU).
Shujaa, who performed dismally in the first legs of the tournament, will be seeking to improve their performance.
In Dubai, the team scored a total of 13 tries with Mwamba RFC Anthony Omondi leading the score chart.
Shujaa’s head coach Damian McGrath did not make any changes to his squad ahead of the tournament.
Some of the stars expected to travel to South Africa include Nelson Oyoo, Bob Muhati, Daniel Taabu and Herman Humwa.
The experienced duo of Willy Ambaka and Billy Odhiambo have also retained their places in the team.
