Former Arsenal and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor compared Tusker FC captain Humphrey Mieno to Yaya Toure.

Adebayor has been in the country for the past two days and was able to watch the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League match between Tusker FC and FC Talanta at the Ruaraka Complex on Wednesday, January 19.

The 38-year-old noted that Mieno reminded him of his teammate and former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure.

"The captain of Tusker is a very good player. He reminds me of my time at Manchester City, a player like Yaya Toure who knew how to play.

“He knows when to play one touch when to dribble when to dive into the opponent. He is such a good player and I hear he also plays for the national team. I am not surprised because he has the quality to play in the national team,” Adebayor noted.

Another Tusker player who caught the eyes of Adebayo was Ibrahim Joshua who was among the scorers in the match.

Adebayo highlighted that despite the player's height, Ibrahim maintains his technique.

He also commended Tusker goalkeeper Patrick Matasi for his role in the team where he gives the team assurance when they play.

The only player from Talanta FC that caught the eyes of the former Togo international was Michael Jairo.

“He is very good technically and physically. On 1v1 he is very intelligent,” Adebayor noted.

Tusker ended the match in a 2-2 draw with Talanta dropping two positions down in the league table behind Nzoia Sugar and KBC who are first and second respectively.
