
World marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge and Olympic Gold medalist Faith Kipyegon were crowned as the 2022 Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year, respectively.
Both were feted with their awards at the 19th edition of the Sports Personality of The Year Awards (SOYA) held on Friday night, January 20, at KICC in Nairobi.
In the men's category, Kipchoge came in first, followed by the 2021 winner Ferdinand Omanyala, who settled for second place.

Coming third was the 2022 World champion in the 800 metres, Emmanuel Korir.
Kipyegon won the award for a second year in a row, followed by tennis star Angella Okutoyi and 5000m Commonwealth Champion Beatrice Chebet at second and third, respectively.
In the other categories, 19-year-old Medina Okot, a 3x3 Basketball player, was crowned the most promising girl.
Para powerlifter Hellen Wawira won the Sports Woman Living With Disability of the Year.
In volleyball, KCB head coach Japheth Munala and the KCB volleyball team were crowned Coach of the Year and Women Team of the Year, respectively.
Munala led KCB to its second Africa Clubs Championship title at the continental tournament held in Tunisia, beating Al Ahly 3-1 in the final in May 2022.
Kabras Sugar Rugby won the 2022 Sportsmen Team of the Year.
16-year-old golfer Andrew Wahome was crowned with the Most Promising Boy Award.
