
Gor Mahia midfielder Kenneth Muguna and goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch have been slapped with hefty fines and suspended from Confederation of African Football duties for having participated in the chaos that ended a CAF Confederation Cup qualifying match away to Napsa Stars of Zambia on February 21.
The duo acted aggressively after Gor Mahia conceded a penalty late into the match which was converted, a result which saw the two-legged encounter end 3-2 in favour of the Zambians, who advanced to the group stage of the continental showpiece.
The CAF Disciplinary Board found the two Gor players guilty of aggressive behavior towards the match officials after they were bundled out of the CAF Confederations Cup by Zambian based side Nap Stars.
The club’s players, according to the Board, also went ahead to break the dressing room windows of the host club.
Arising from the aggrieve acts of the two players, the CAF Disciplinary Board decided to impose the harsh sanctions on the K'Ogalo duo.
Suspension on the Gor duo namely Oluoch Otieno Boniface and Ugambi Muguna Kenneth for their next four (4) CAF interclubs matches.
Impose upon each player a financial sanction of 15,000 USD which is equivalent to KSH 1.6 million for their regrettable aggressive behavior against the referees.
The East African heavyweights will also have to bear the costs of the damaged property which was destroyed on their visit to Zambia.
The CAF Disciplinary Board added that should Gor feel aggrieved by the decision they can launch an appeal before the CAF Appeal Board.
