England manager Gareth Southgate has named a 33-man provisional squad for this summer's European Championship.
Managers for this year's tournament were allowed to select 26 players instead of the usual 23. Southgate has selected a larger 33-strong group initially, but will need to trim it down to 26 by June 1.
The England boss has included multiple players from Manchester United, with the injured centre back Harry Maguire making the cut alongside Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and shot stopper Dean Henderson while loanee Jesse Lingard is a notable selection after his outstanding performances for The Hammers.
The English tactician also revealed four players from the Premier League champions Manchester City will play at this summer's Euros for the Three Lions, selecting John Stones, Kyle Walker, Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling to represent the nation at the international showpiece.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s controversial omission from the World Cup qualifiers in March sparked plenty of debate but the Liverpool right-back has been given an opportunity to win his place back in time to play at this Euro games.
EPL top scorer Harry Kane has also been included in the England squad amid transfer interest from both Manchester based side clubs.
England will miss the services of Eric Dier who never earned a call up to the squad, as well as Leicester’s James Maddison and Manchester United Aron Wan Bissaka who missed a spot despite an outstanding performance in their clubs.
The Three Lions will be expected to clash world cup finalists Croatia, Scotland and the Czech Republic in a Group D encounter.
