For instance, Sterling has a foundation that helps individuals from poor backgrounds to find their voice, break down barriers that prevent them from succeeding and realise their potential.
Crystal Palace tactician Patrick Viera and his Burnley counterpart Vincent Kompany were some managers who made it to the list.
In the media category, the winners were Carl Anka (The Athletic), Jemma Archer (Whisper), Pippa Monique (The Football Mum Podcast), Nelson Kumah (BBC Sport) and BT Sport’s Fatou Jeng.
The final list was voted by judges from the black community and across the football industry. The general public nominated players.
Football Black List co-founder Leon Mann stated that he was proud of the stars who have made it to this year's list.
"I am particularly proud to see the list now feature board members, and managers at the top of the game, but we still have a long way to go to see better representation in football.
"However, we are highlighting those leading the way. We are proud of these individuals and the impact they are making,” he commented.
Football Black List was established in 2008 with the primary objective of recognising and celebrating influential Black people in the industry.
It is divided into eight categories: media and practitioners, players, commercial, management, coaching, administration, community, and LGBTQ+.
