
The Belgian Football Association on Sunday ,May 30, confirmed that former Arsenal Legend Thierry Henry will be rejoining Belgium’s National Team coaching staff ahead of the European Championship where he will serve again as one of coach Roberto Martinez’s assistants.
The 43 year old Frenchman worked on Martinez’s staff from mid-2016 until just after the World Cup in Russia, where Belgium finished third in the global competition.
The former World cup winner then went to Monaco as coach and later to Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer before returning to working as a television football pundit in the UK ahead of the Euro Games.
After being offered the deal Henry opted to quit the broadcasting duties for the Coaching tasks in Belgium.
Henry announced through a statement that he would no longer be involved in the broadcasting task “It is with much sadness that I can no longer be with all my friends and the wonderful team at the BBC during the European Championships this summer,” narrated Henry in a BBC statement.

Belgium, who are considered among the favourites to win the tournament, have been paired with Russia, Finland and Denmark in Group B.
They open their campaign against Russia on 12 June as they seek to put up an outstanding performance at the European showpiece held in England.
