Kakamega Homeboyz FC coach Nicholas Muyoti says his team will use the two-week break to sharpen up ahead of the league’s homestretch.

Homeboyz, runners up last season, have won four of their last five Premier League matches with the latest being the 3-1 drubbing of Posta Rangers.

They however are not in action after choosing not to compete in the FKF Cup that enters the round of 16 this weekend.

”We have to stay in shape and that’s why we cannot go on a break despite being out of action for long,” he says.

”We’ve had breaks before and maybe handled things differently then so now we know better. We will keep on training as if we are in action this weekend”

Homeboyz were runners up during last season’s premier league that ended prematurely due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic and had a poor start to the new season. Muyoti’s men have however, proved their mettle by bouncing back and rising to the top half of the BetKing Premier League table standings. He attributes this to constant work.

”We had to work harder. The first stoppage in the league greatly affected us and there was pressure too. With the second break, we knew what to do and didn’t sleep a day. It’s all been hard work,” he says.

Homeboyz are currently 7th on the log with 24 points.
