Lorient,Rangers and Celtic Enter Joseph Okumu 'Bidding War' as Elfsborg's Transfer Asking Price Revealed

Harambee Stars defender Joseph Okumu has emerged as a target for top clubs in France, Belgium and Scotland.

Scottish giants Rangers, Celtic, Ghent, Reims and Lorient want to sign the former Chemelil Sugar man..

Swedish sports website,Sportbladet,have reported about a bid from Ligue 1 side Lorient for the defender have already tabled a bid for Okumu.

Lorient who finished the season in 16th have officially tabled a USD 3.6 million (Ksh 391milllion) bid to IF Elfsborg with fellow Ligue 1 counterparts Reims also asking for the Kenya international’s services.

Okumu’s current club  Elfsborg are holding out for a Ksh  55 million price tag to anyone who wants to come with a bid for the Kenyan.

Then there is Scottish champions Rangers and their rivals Celtic have also tabled their bids but it has been reported that the bids aee way below Okumu’s market value.

“I can not comment on any details,” said Okumu’s agent Stefan Andreasson

“We’ve had some clubs that want to act, not just one club.”

Okumu’s contract with the Sweden-based club expires in 2024.
