England beat Romania 1-0 in their final Euro 2020 warm-up match before they take on Croatia at Wembley on June 13.

Gareth Southgate made ten changes from the victory over Austria with a number of players on the fringe of his squad given a run out.

Marcus Rashford was named captain of a relatively inexperienced starting lineup, with Harry Kane given the night off.

The evening didn't get off to the best start when a section of the crowd decided to boo England's players as they took the knee, despite Southgate's passionate speech prior to the game.

England laboured in the opening 45, but did hit the crossbar twice, firstly through Dominic Calvert-Lewin and then Jadon Sancho.

Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson came off the bench at the break as he looks to prove his fitness ahead of Croatia in Euro games.

The hosts were given a chance to take the lead in the second half when Jack Grealish was brought down in the box.Rashford stepped up and calmly converted into the bottom corner and broke the deadlock.

With 12 minutes to go, England were awarded a second penalty after Calvert-Lewin was fouled by Vlad Chiriches.Henderson took the responsibility but saw his spot-kick saved by Romanian goalkeeper Florin Nita.

England now shifts focus to Croatia with Southgate now given a full week to reflect on this performance before he names his solid starting lineup.
