It is the end of the road for the FKF Cup champions Bandari after they were bundled out of the competition by FKF Division One side Equity Bank FC at the Ruaraka stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Sande Katumba scored the only goal of the match to dispatch Bandari from the competition and give the Bankers a place in the semi-final.

Equity will now face AFC Leopards in the semi finals. Ingwe beat Tusker FC 1-0 at Ruaraka to book the slot.

The tense match was settled by a well taken first half penalty by Isaac Kipyegon penalty.

Bandari started the match brightly and should have had the opener inside the first five minutes of the game but Hassan Abdala missed two glaring chances in succession.

On the first occasion,  he failed to guide his header on target in the fourth minute from a Benjamin Murimi cross and later did the same from another Murimi cross.

Equity got into the game with Stephen Olugi teeing up Evans Ochieng but his effort was well read by Justin Ndikumama who parried the ball away.

The FKF Division One side piled pressure in the second half and it was Sande who reacted fast to tap home from close range to give John Baraza’s side the all important win and set a date with AFC Leopards.
