The captain's armband that Cristiano Ronaldo flung to the ground in disgust after Portugal were controversially denied a late winner on Saturday against Serbia was put on auction on Tuesday in a bid to help a sick child.
With the scores at 2-2, Ronaldo had a late goal denied and this  irked his anger as he walked off  the pitch.

The captain's armband thrown on the ground by the Portuguese star is set up for auction so as to help in raising money for a six months old child who suffers from spinal muscular atrophy.

The armband was picked up by a worker who donated it to the Humanitarian Organisation 'Together for Life' who are looking forward to selling it to the highest bidder in an online auction.

The Humanitarian Organisation is looking forward to raising roughly 2.1 million Euros for the child's treatment.

Ronaldo's frustrations could yet have a positive impact despite being slammed for overreacting.

The Juventus star was denied a late winner in their world cup qualifier match against Serbia in Belgrade. The replay clearly showed that the ball had crossed the line before Serbia's Stefan Mitrovic cleared the ball.

That last shot would have seen Portugal bag in 3 points but instead left the two teams sharing a point each after the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
