
The English Premier League on Friday, September 10, announced Nuno Espirito Santo as Barclays Manager of the month for August.
The Tottenham coach who was appointed in July, and has made a perfect start to his Spurs tenure after taking over from the departing Jose Mourinho.
He kicked things off with a 1-0 win over champions Manchester City on the opening weekend, then followed with successive 1-0 victories over Wolves and Watford, with Tottenham the only Premier League side who still have a 100% winning record this season.
In a video posted on the Spurs’ official website, he expressed his delight at receiving the award, paying tribute to his backroom staff.
"It’s a privilege, I’m very thankful," he said. "Behind the scenes, with all the work that everybody in the club does, helping the coaching staff and trying to provide the right environment for the players to compete because this is how we want to work together, push each other, help each other, so it’s a privilege to be here,” he said.
"In the league they’re tough matches and always very competitive, but the credit is for the players because they are the ones who delivered the results and the performances," concluded Nuno.
Nuno is the eighth Spurs manager to win the award, and it’s the fourth time he’s won it after taking the accolade at Wolves in September 2018, June 2020 and October 2020.
