Gaspo Women FC has been disqualified from the FKF Women Cup Semi Final after violating article 8.9 of the FKF Women Cup regulations, this is after they fielded an ineligible player during the tournament's quarter final match against Kayole Starlets on 19th September 2021. Following the decision Kayole Starlets Fc will now face Vihiga Queens Football Club in the Semi Final match slated for Thursday 23rd 2pm at Ruaraka Grounds.

The player, identified as Iddah Adhiambo (Midfielder) was regarded not to have registered with the Gaspo squad and in return deemed ineligible to play. An open letter from the Football Kenya Federation read, "Documents in our possession, including the match officials' reports as well as a statement from your club, indicate that the player indeed featured in the match in which your team won 4-2 on penalties after the match ended in a draw. Additionally we're in possession of match reports indicating that the player had already featured for Kibera Girls Soccer Academy FC in the same tournament this year. "

The Violated article indicates;" During the same year, a player is in principle eligible to play for one and the same club in the FKF Women Cup. However, a player even though registered on the list of a club and has not been fielded in any much, will be eligible to play for another participating club FKF Women Cup the same year so long as all the regulations pertaining to transfers are complied with.

On the other hand, Vihiga Queens needed a Topista Situma 75th minute strike to beat Bunyore Starlets in the Vihiga derby at Mumboha grounds. The squad also redeemed themselves with the regional title two weeks ago after failing to defend the league title last season. Queens will now be looking to battle it out with Kayole Starlets to see who proceeds on to the final.
