Losing the title last season to Tusker was one thing that not many Gor Mahia fans wanted especially after dominating the local scene for over six years.

On Saturday afternoon, Gor Mahia takes on KCB, runners up from last season’s campaign in Thika as the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season officially kicks-off .

The last five meetings between the two has seen KCB win twice, lose one and draw twice.

Gor Mahia failed to beat their opponents last season, losing 2-0 in May and drawing 0-0  in the reverse fixture and will hope to make amends this time round.

K’Ogalo lost the Super cup to Tusker on September 22 at the same venue and Mark Harisson’s side will be seeking to make amends as they tackle a KCB side that has been resilient in the last few seasons.

Seven new additions to the squad has at least easen the burden for those who ‘chose to remain’ and the Green Army will be hoping that nothing stops them from reclaiming the title this season.

KCB have had a quiet transfer window and with the exception of goalkeeper Joseph Okoth leaving, they have retained the squad that ran Tusker close as well as signing James Mazembe to add a creative spark in attack. They have also signed former AFC Leopards captain Robinson Kamura to add to the already experienced backline.
