Five Kenyan triathletes featured in Troutbeck, Zimbabwe as they geared up for the Africa Triathlon Cup at the same venue on September 25.

Top of them all was John Paul Makona's podium finish in the Junior Men Category bringing home a Silver Medal. Congratulations also goes to Josette Njeri 4th, Joseph Okal 6th, Treveor Mwamisi 7th, Joshua Okal 12 in the Africa Junior Cup while Kenya's only representative in the Africa Cup Jesse Okal finished 8th.

Njeri and Joseph are the top-ranked male and female triathletes in Kenya with 609 and 509 points respectively.

The five had earlier attended a week-long high performance training camp in Zimbabwe. Salonik Ole Koyiet, Kenya Triathlon Federation Secretary-General described the camp as a wonderful opportunity for the triathletes since coach Alfan Mwanyika was also in attendance. Kenya was represented by two triathletes at the Under 23 level; Soud Hassan Soud and Jesse Okal, at the continental tournament.

Elsewhere, Kenya Triathlon Federation (KTF) will conduct national trials on Saturday at Tatu City to select the team to represent the country at October's Continental Championship to be staged in Windhoek, Namibia. Tickets will be up for grabs in 5km run, 20km bike and 2.5km run ahead of the October 15-17 event.
