Uganda finally found their mojo back as they beat Rwanda 1-0 in Kigali to move into second place in Group E of the 2022 Africa World Cup qualifiers.
Fahad Bayo scored the lone goal for the Cranes in the 41st minute as they moved to five points from three matches and kept another clean sheet. Rwanda remained rooted to the bottom of group E with one point from three matches while Mali’s 5-0 hammering of Kenya sees them top the group with seven points.
Central Africa Republic did the unexpected, beating the Super Eagles 1-0 in Lagos, substitute Karl Namnganda scoring a sensational at death.
Nigeria however stayed top of Group C with six points from three matches while the CAR went third on four points. The other match in the group saw Cape Verde register a 2-1 win away to Liberia in Accra. Van-Dave Harmon had given Liberia the lead in the 45th minute but second half goals from Jamiro Gregory Monteiro and Garry Rodrigues sealed the win for the Cape Verdians.
