In a bizarre turn of events, Mauro Icardi has threatened to leave current club Paris Saint-Germain if Wanda Nara doesn't come back to him. Icardi is alleged to have had an affair with Argentine model and actor China Suarez.
As a result, Argentine TV presenter and model Wanda unfollowed the striker on Instagram and hit out, saying: "Ruined another family." Icardi responded to reports of a split by sharing an image of themselves together, wishing her a happy Mother's day - which was being celebrated in Argentina on Sunday. Wanda fired back, posting a picture of her hand accompanied with a savage message: "Good day. I like my hand better without a ring," she wrote.
Well, the latest in the saga of Wanda and Icardi is that the former Inter Milan man has threatened to leave PSG if she doesn't return to him. French outlet RMC Sport say he's prepared to walk if his relationship with Wanda isn't fixed. The 28-year-old was allowed to miss training with PSG on Sunday due to 'family' reasons.
Icardi and Wanda have had two daughters - Francesca and Isabella - and raise them alongside Wanda's three sons (Valentino Gaston, Constantino and Benedicto) from her previous relationship with Maxi Lopez. Icardi's transfer stance at PSG could pave the way for a move to Newcastle United, who have been linked with the Argentine international following their Takeover. Though they face stiff competition from fellow Premier League side Tottenham and Serie A giants Juventus.
The relationship between Icardi and Wanda Nara is famous for pretty much all of the wrong reasons, with the striker's wife originally married to former Barcelona forward Maxi Lopez. Lopez and Icardi were friends and teammates when Nara left one Argentine for another and there has been bad blood ever since, with claims of the former Inter striker not allowing his ex colleague to even see his kids.
Six months ago Icardi had to be defended by his wife, after jokingly calling her a dog on social media, but she certainly wasn't defending him on Saturday night. The model turned football agent took to her Instagram story to post a not so subtle message, "Another family that you have ruined for a slut," the 34-year-old posted whilst also unfollowing Icardi on Instagram.
In the past Nara has denied the claims that she cheated on Lopez to start her relationship with the former Inter captain, saying, "I left Maxi Lopez and went back to Argentina," she said. "That is when I started a thing with Mauro. I had three children and it was not easy returning to Argentina and starting over. Having found someone like Mauro, who is young, was very important to me. It was not only a choice for me, I chose him because he already loved my kids."
However, if her message on Instagram on Saturday is to her second husband, which seems pretty likely at this point, then it may undo her previous claims. Suggesting that the striker is ruining 'another' family seems to mean that he's done it before, which Lopez and many others are likely to agree with. Icardi's time in Paris, since leaving Inter on loan in 2019, has not gone as he would have wanted, and he's often been used as a substitute. The signing of Lionel Messi in the summer has not made it any more likely he can become a regular starter at the Parc des Princes, and even if Kylian Mbappe leaves next summer the club would likely sign a replacement.
Should he want to get out of the French capital then Newcastle United could be an option, with the newly rich club linked with a move for the forward.
