Neddy Akoth Ready for Role After Quitting Football

Recently the Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed formed a caretaker committee to run the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), chaired by retired judge Aaron Ringera. 

She also announced names of the members of the Secretariat to the Caretaker Committee with  Linda Oguta as the Head of Secretariat. 

Former Ulinzi Starlets and Harambee Starlet player Neddy Akoth was among the key names in the appointment as a member of the caretaker committee. 

The former Kenya international announced her retirement after guiding Ulinzi Starlets to winning the WPL Super Cup. A week later, she was appointed as a member in the newly formed FKF Caretaker committee that is being led by Rtd. Justice Aaron Ringera. 

“I take this opportunity to thank CS Amina Mohammed for appointing me as one of the caretakers .” 

“I am here for the players' interests. Soldier on . Time to work,” the statement read. 

The 29 year-old has had quite a journey in football as she first Joined Makolanders from Tartar High School in West Pokot.

Atieno was a constant figure in the Harambee Starlets team  until she was axed for demanding their dues. 

Neddy who joined Ulinzi Starlets in 2018 from Makolanders was recently in October recalled to the National side, Harambee Starlets. 

She recently retired from active soccer after helping Ulinzi Starlets win the Women Premier League Super Cup  

On November 11 she was appointed to the 15 member FKF Caretaker Committee by Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina mohammed.
