Kenya Beats Tanzania by Seven Wickets in the ICC Africa T20 Regional Final

On Thursday, November 18, Kenya emerged victorious against Tanzania at the ICC Africa T20 Regional Final in Kigali Rwanda. 

Kenya turned the tables from a loss by their East African neighbors on Wednesday with a commanding 7 wicket victory. 

Rushab Patel who was named as man of the match for Kenya managed to make 24 runs off 24 balls as the Kenyans easily surpassed the target of 102 runs set by Tanzania, racing to 104 runs for the loss of 3 wickets after 12.3 overs. 

Kenya had earlier registered an 8 wicket win over Nigeria, 

Alex Obanda in a previous match against Nigeria batted his way into the history books with a monster century that earned him the man of the match accolade. 

In that match Kenya registered an 8 wicket win over Nigeria, with Obanda managing 103 runs making him the first Kenyan to score a century in a T20 international.  

The Nigerians had reached 130 for 6 after 20 overs with the Kenyans overhauling them, reaching 136 runs for the loss of 2 wickets after 13.4 overs. 

The action continues on Saturday, November 20, with Kenya taking on Nigeria and Uganda in fixtures that they must win if they are to advance to the global qualifiers. 

The Global Qualifiers will consist of the four lowest ranked teams from the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup, the four best ranked teams not already qualified for the World Cup or qualifiers and eight teams from Regional Qualifiers.
