FKF PL: Wins for Tusker, Gor Mahia as Homeboyz Drop Points

Tusker
FKF Premier League defending champions Tusker celebrate one of their goals against Bandari at the Mbaraki Sports Club

Gor Mahia and Tusker picked up important points on Sunday in their respective FKF Premier League matches against Posta Rangers and Bandari respectively.

K'ogallo beat Posta 3-0 at the Kasarani Stadium, avenging a 3-0 loss they suffered at the hands of the mailmen in their last match.

Tusker, on the other hand, made it two wins in a row against Bandari as they emerged 2-0 winners at the Mbaraki Sports Club. The Brewers had beaten Bandari 1-0 in midweek at the Ruaraka Grounds.

David Majak and Eric Zakayo were on target for Tusker, confining Bandari to a fifth match without a win.

In Kakamega, defender Sylvester Owino put Homeboyz ahead in the 36th minute for a 1-0 halftime lead. A spirited second-half fight by Nzoia, however, yielded an equalizer courtesy of Levis Barasa. The match ended 1-1.

AFC Leopards, meanwhile, played out a 1-1 draw with Bidco United at the Nyayo National Stadium. Robert Mudenyu scored for Bidco, who would reply swiftly through Nelson Chieta.

Sofapaka, in the meantime, failed to find a way past a star-studded Kenya Police in Wundanyi, the match ending 0-0.

Police fielded their latest mid-season acquisitions, Kenyan internationals Francis Kahata, Harun Shakava and Elvis Rupia. Kahata and Rupia did not live up to the high expectations on their backs as they were withdrawn in the second half.

As it stands, Kakamega Homeboyz still occupies the top spot with 34 points from 17 matches. Hot on their heels is Nairobi City Stars with 31 points while KCB and Gor Mahia are tied at 30 points apiece.
