The four seconds between Gabriel Martinelli's two yellow cards for Arsenal against Wolves on February 10 night, is the smallest gap between two cards for a player during a Premier League match.

The Brazilian lost his cool after being denied a free-kick and was later slapped with two yellow cards at once by referee Michael Oliver.

Mikel Arteta after the match stated that he would talk to the Premier League officials after Gabriel Martinelli's unusual dismissal in Arsenal's 1-0 win over Wolves.

His first yellow was for attempting to stop Daniel Podence taking a throw-in and the second was for a foul play against Chiquinho.

Arsenal have received seven more red cards than any other Premier League side since 2019 when Arteta took over as the club's manager.

Arteta on his part has asked for an explanation for what he considered an unprecedented dismissal.

"I've never seen something like that.in my 18 years in this country,” Arteta stated.

Before Matinelli’s dramatic send off, the Gunners were leading 1-0 thanks to a first half goal by Gabriel Magalhaes.

Arsenal's 10-man squad was able to withstand the pressure for 20 minutes ending the match with a 1-10 win against Wolves.

Arteta also urged his players to improve on their discipline as they have played three games out of 10 with 10 men.

Thursday win placed the Gunners fifth on the log, with 39 points, 21 behind table toppers and defending champions City.
