
40-year-old Kenyan football club is set to make a return to football after a stakeholder meeting agreed to re-launch it.
The Meru Bombers, one of Kenya's Legacy Football Clubs, stakeholders met on February 11, where they established the relaunch of the club as they celebrated its 40th Anniversary since it was founded.
The last time the team featured in the main league was back in 2003 with the likes of Cliff Dawo Munene, Manasiah Imbo and Franklin Obare among other Kenyan football legends playing at the time.

Those present at the celebrations were officials from the County Government of Meru, Meru FKF Branch, Meru Business Community, media, friends and community representatives.
The County Government of Meru through Sports Chief Officer, Mercy Ndiira, threw the weight of the county behind the club lauding its new vision.
"Life Begins at 40, the vision is to Make Meru the Iten of Kenyan Football,” she noted.
The Bombers, previously known as Mafuko Bomers were given access by the county government to use the newly refurbished Kinoru Stadium as their home ground.
The relaunch committee chairman and the Meru FKF Branch Chair, Ken Riungu, welcomed the support of the County Government, the Meru business community, the club legends and current players, promising to set a new vision for the future.
The event laid a challenge for the club with the aim of setting a record in the men's football at the highest altitude ever.
The official re-launch of the Meru Bombers and of the Bombers Challenge shall take place alongside the official reopening of Kinoru Stadium in March 2022.
