The Kenyan team for World Relays Championships slated for Silesia, Poland slated for May 1-2 left the country on Tuesday evening.

The 36-man squad and eight officials will be eyeing to seal Olympic slots as well as gold medals at the summer olympic games in Tokyo.

The entire team had pitched a bubble camp at Moi International Stadium Kasarani under strict COVID 19 Protocols.

The team’s manager Kennedy Tanui expressed confidence that the sprinters are ready to showcase their zeal and prowess hoping to record more medals under their name at the biennial event.

In the previous World Relays Championships in Yokohama, Japan, Kenya encountered numerous errors that saw the team collecting a single medal, a bronze in the mixed relays 4x400m when clocking 3:19.43 at the finish line.

Kenya’s Relay team is already in the medal bracket and can only aim for a better medal with only three teams having registered for the event Kenya, Germany and Poland.

The 4x400m men and women’s teams and 4x400m mixed relay teams have a good chance of making it to the finals with their events starting at the semi-final stages. They only need to reach the final and qualify for the Main event in Tokyo in July.
