In football it is easier for one to participate in a match than to perform any freestyle stunt. The difference between normal football and freestyling is the level of difficulty and creativity that one should portray.
In Kenya, one freestyler, Edward Murimi is popularly known for his stunts in the streets of Nairobi as he entertains the public through his stunning craft.
Speaking to TeamKenya.co.ke Edward who is commonly known by his social media handles ‘Edward teco’ revealed that in 2014, he was paid a whopping Ksh300,000 for a two-minute performance in Germany.
His trip to Germany had been facilitated by a foreigner he had met through his social media platform.

The 30-year-old football freestyler was once a footballer before he quit his career after being hit by injury.
On December 28, 2021, one of his video where he was juggling in the streets of Nairobi went viral, catching the attention of ESPN, a giant media company in Europe, which reposted the video.
The freestyler noted the inspiration for the video was after a friend asked him to showcase his skill and get Ksh300.
“Someone approached me and promised to give me Ksh300, so someone recorded me then later posted the video on my TikTok platform then the media house reposted it and it went viral.
Freestyling is my main job as most of the times I take to the streets to showcase my craft to people where sometimes people appreciate what I am doing with some small tipping,” Edward stated.
Though his career is dotted with a number of challenges, Edward has had the privilege to represent Kenya in various countries like Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Brazil and South Africa.
Edward is currently coaching a youth team in Kariobangi, Nairobi as he continues with his freestyling craft waiting for the qualifiers set to take place in June.
