England defending midfielder Kalvin Philips spent two weeks in Kenya ahead of the new season. The 24-year-old who was recently signed by Manchester City toured several holiday destinations in the country including the Tsavo National Park.

Philips who was accompanied by his girlfriend Ashleigh Behan posted several photos of their visit on his social media account disclosing his love for wild animals.

“The past two weeks we traveled to Kenya on a Safari which was an experience I don’t think we will ever be able to top!! Me and Ashleigh absolutely love animals so having the chance to do our best David Attenborough is something we won't ever forget seeing these animals in the wild was unreal! " He stated.

The former Leeds United player also stated that they had the chance to visit Masai village where they learned a lot about the history of the East African community.

“We also had the opportunity to visit a Masai village. It was an incredible time learning about the history of the tribe. Experiences like this really puts things into perspective and the people were so welcoming." Wrote Philips.

Philips, who recently earned his first Three Lions cap, ended her Instagram post by thanking the individuals who made the trip memorable and recommended Kenya to tourists who would like to tour Africa.

"Thank you to everyone @finchhattons for making our stay unforgettable. The safari was one of the best times of our lives but it was the people at this camp that made it special"

"I also wanted to thank @firstluxegroup for booking everything - from flights, our camp and everything in between! The whole trip went so smoothly we couldn't recommend them enough," he explained.

The English Premier League kicks off in a month’s time and Philips will be influential in their title defense, particularly after the departure of their veteran Brazilian defender Fernando Luiz Roza popularly known as Fernandinho.

City are one of the clubs tipped to win the English Premier League next season having signed sensational Norway forward Erling Halland, Argentine lethal attacker Julian Alvarez and 29-year-old shot stopper Stefan Ortega Moreno.
