
The World Championships in Oregon ended on Monday, July 25, with many nations and athletes bagging medals while other broke world records.
Nigerian sprinter, Tobi Amusan, smashed the world record in the women's 100-meter hurdles on Sunday, July 24.
The Nigerian bagged gold in the finals, winning Nigeria’s first-ever gold at the World Athletics Championships.

After her win, many people including her fellow athletes could not believe what she had just accomplished.
"I could not believe it when I saw it on the screen after the semis. But it was just a matter of time," Amusan said after the semifinal.
In her November 2016 tweet, the athlete noted that she would become unforgettable in the future.
"Unknown now but soon I will be unforgettable, I will persist until I succeed," her tweet read at the time.
Her win was celebrated by Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State in Nigeria, who revealed that the athlete was his adopted daughter.
“We congratulate and rejoice with a proud daughter of Ogun State, whom I adopted some months back to support her career, Ms. Tobi Amusan on her world record-breaking (12.06sec) gold victory in Women's 100M Hurdles.
“As a State, we are proud of your success and wish Tobi greater heights in the years ahead,” the Governor tweeted.
