The Ballon d'Or is an annual football award presented to the most outstanding players by the French news magazine France Football.
Africa has seen few of its players appearing on the list let alone winning like Liberia's incumbent President, George Weah did.
Since 1956, every single winner has come from South America or Europe save for Weah who broke the tradition in 1995.
