The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has launched an Online Club Licensing Platform (CLOP).
CAF had met with member associations at the CAF Club Licensing Seminar in Cairo, Egypt, where it handed the platform to the members.
In a statement dated Friday, July 29, CAF stated that CLOP is a system of electronic tools designed to manage the licensing process and stadium inspections for continental and domestic competitions.

“Member associations as licensors will use the CAF club licensing online platform to operate their licensing system each season. The system is extended to all CAF national associations to be used for continental and national type licenses,” the statement read in part.
The functions of the new online platform will include enabling licensors to implement a fully automated and electronic club licensing process for continental and domestic competitions, and facilitate easy collection and real-time viewing of documents submitted by clubs.
It will also allow CAF to control the licensing process for domestic competitions as well as collect data on African clubs.
The system will also allow the execution of stadium inspection missions for CAF and national competitions.
Member associations will be able to insert their own criteria and requirements for a given national competition on CLOP.
“The CAF Club Licensing Online Platform will take club licensing in Africa to a new dimension by modernizing and standardizing the club licensing system, streamlining all information submitted by the clubs to the licensor, enabling CAF and the licensors to access all club license applications in a timely manner, execute the stadium inspection procedure and ultimately provide efficient access to comparative analysis,” part of the statement read.
