Shujaa qualified for their third successive Main Cup quarter-final at the Commonwealth Games after handing Jamaica a 45-0 loss in their second Group D match in Birmingham on Friday night, July 29.
This was Shujaa’s second victory in a row after they beat their East African neighbours Uganda 27-14.
Kenya's win over Uganda was revenge for losing to their perennial rivals in the 7s Rugby Africa Cup semi-final. Uganda went on to lift the title and book a place in the Rugby Sevens World Cup.

With the two wins, Shujaa are sure of at least a second spot finish before they face off with Australia in their last match on Saturday, July 30.
Shujaa top pool D on six points with Australia coming at second with five points. Uganda is third with three points with Jamaica trailing with two points.
Shujaa captain Nelson Oyoo noted that they still had a good chance of winning a medal at the Birmingham Games.
In the same pool, Australia defeated Jamaica 62-0. However, they were held to a 12-12 draw by Uganda.
Kenya's head coach Damian McGrath had earlier noted that the players had set the quarter-finals as their first target.
"The boys have set their own targets because they are the ones playing the game. They want to get to the knockout stages, and I cannot see why we cannot do that.
“We are one of those teams to cause worry to the others. Let us see what we will achieve,” Damian McGrath stated.
For one to advance to the quarters, they must be among the top two from their respective pools.
