Pamela Kosgei will be seeking to replicate her elder sister’s success when she lines up in the 3,000m steeplechase race at the 2022 World Under 20 Championships which kick off on Monday August 1, in Santiago de Cali, Colombia.

Pamela is the younger sister to the reigning marathon world record holder and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games gold medalist Brigid Kosgei.

According to Pamela, Brigid has played a big role in her career so far, advising and pushing her to become the best.

Pamela revealed that Brigid’s success in road races particularly in major marathon events is what inspired her to take the sport seriously.

“My elder sister has been helpful to me. Whenever we go jogging, she advises me to train hard and win easily. I will strive to be as successful as her. Her success in the marathon inspired me to seriously take up athletics,” Pamela was quoted by Nation Sports.

Pamela disclosed  that they are determined to bring the steeplechase title back home.
