FIFA opened the last-minute sales phase of the 2022 Qatar World Cup on Tuesday, September 27.

The phase is expected to run until the end of the tournament with tickets being purchased on a first come first served basis.

Due to high demand, FIFA expects the initial inventory to sell out quickly.

“Fans who have not yet secured their seats – or who want to add even more fantastic contests to their schedule – will have another opportunity to do so with the start of the last-minute sales phase on Tuesday, September 27, at 11:00 CET / 12:00 (noon) local time,” part of the statement read.

The official sale of tickets began on January 19, 2022. The tickets for the quadrennial football event are grouped into four categories with the cheapest tickets being the fourth category which are only available for Qatar residents.

“Disabled people and people with limited mobility are encouraged to browse the options online and select from a range of dedicated Accessibility Tickets,” part of the statement read.

FIFA announced that all general public tickets will be fulfilled as mobile tickets with an app set to be launched in mid-October.

Once one has purchased the ticket, it will be uploaded to the app and will be activated when one accesses the stadium.

Fans will also be required to apply for a digital Hayya (Fan ID). The Fan ID will be used as both an entry permit for the State of Qatar and for stadium access.

“To apply for a digital Hayya, and to book accommodation, please visit Qatar2022.qa or download the Hayya to Qatar 2022 app (available on iOS and Android). Hayya is operated by the government of the State of Qatar,” FIFA’s statement read.
