Defending London marathon champion Joyciline Jepkosgei has noted that her target at the 2022 London Marathon will be running a personal best.

The 28-year-old athlete revealed that for the last four months she has been training in Iten and hopes to lower her PB time.

It will be Jepkosgei’s second race this year having finished seventh at the Boston Marathon on April 18.
Jepkosgei will be eyeing her third Majors victory, having followed up her maiden New York City Marathon win in 2019 with London Marathon glory in 2021.
“I am so excited to be here again for the 2022 London Marathon... My preparations have been going well and I am ready for Sunday.
“According to my preparations I am planning to do better than last year maybe to run my personal best, that’s my target.
Her time of 2:17:43 made Jepkosgei the seventh fastest female marathoner in history.
Joyciline also noted that despite the exiting of her fellow compatriot Brigid Kosgei withdrawing from she will still stick to her plans.
“There is no change despite the pulling out of Brigid I'm concentrated on doing well on Sunday,” She noted.
The defending champion noted that she is in the middle stage of getting experience in the marathon races after her debut in 2019.
“Marathon is like opening a new page every day so I am still getting more experience as I go on, I am now at the middle stage of getting more experience in the marathon.
“It is a process of learning and I'm learning more to get experience in marathon and I am happy because in my debut I won. I am here to get more experience and even run faster,” Jepkosgei added.
