
Kenya will host the Red Bull Street freestyle football world finals for the first time ever in 2023.
The sponsors of the spectacular event announced the decision over the weekend after the conclusion of the 2022 edition which was staged in Croatia.
"After intense freestyle battles in Croatia, the Red Bull Street Style World Final is a wrap.

"Be sure to stay tuned – Red Bull Street Style will be back in 2023 with the first-ever World Final to be held in Kenya," read a statement from Red Bull.
According to Myke Rabar who signed the hosting rights, the outgoing cabinet secretary for sports Ambassador Amina Mohammed played a crucial role to enable Kenya to win the hosting rights.
“This could be as large as the World Under-20 Athletics Championships. CS Amina has really been instrumental in helping us close the deal.
“The 2023 World Freestyle Football Championship will attract participants from more than 35 countries,” he was quoted by Nation.
United States Caitlyn Schrepfer and Norway's Erlend Fagerli were crowned the champions of the 2022 edition staged in Pula.
The maiden people's choice award went to Poland's Aguska Mnich and Tristan Gac from France
Although many people credit the late Diego Maradona's unique warm ups in the early 1980s as the birth of the game, freestyle football originated from Southern Asia.
In freestyle football, players use creativity to express themselves with a number of tricks such as the combination of dance, acrobatics and juggling.
