After the match a complaint was filed with the FA before the Association released a statement on Wednesday, October 26, stating that no disciplinary action would be taken.

“Following an investigation into an allegation received by the FA in the Premier League fixture between Arsenal FC and Liverpool FC on Sunday, October 9, 2022, The FA can confirm that it will not be taking any disciplinary action.

“Whilst The FA is entirely satisfied that the allegation was made in good faith, it is equally satisfied that there is no case to answer,” part of the statement read.

The FA noted that it conducted a full and thorough investigation which included taking witness statements from the complainant and the accused.

It was also revealed that the other six players also gave their statements. The six are those who were close when the incident took place.

The FA also reviewed multiple angles of video footage together with independent linguistics experts' evidence.

Through the evidence, it was concluded that none of the witnesses heard the alleged comment. It was also noted that the accused denied the allegation.
