AS Monaco midfielder Eliot Matazo is one of the hottest prospects in the European topflight leagues and he qualifies to play for Harambee Stars.
The Belgian international, who earlier this year extended his contract with Monaco to 2026 has strong Kenyan roots - his mother is from the Nyanza region.
Matazo was among the footballers who were nominated for the 2022 golden boy award in June this year.

"After Benoît Badiashile, Pietro Pellegri and Myron Boadu in 2021, AS Monaco is still well represented in the 2022 Golden Boy trophy.
"This time, the Principality's Club is on the list for this prestigious award for players under 21, evolving in Europe (born after January 1 , 2002), and organized by Tuttosport , thanks to Eliot Matazo , present in the 60 finalists," read part of the statement from Monaco.
Eliot was nominated alongside the likes of Real Madrid ace Eduardo Camavinga, Barcelona's Gavi and the Borussia Dortmund duo of Karim Adeyemi and Jude Bellingham.
The fast-rising star has represented Belgium at youth levels (U18, U16 and U20), and he is on the verge of making his maiden senior appearance based on his imposing displays at Monaco.
However, according to the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) rules, Eliot is still eligible to play for Kenya.
FIFA regulations that were amended in September 2020, allows players to change their national if they have not made more than 3 senior appearances for another country in competitive matches before they turn 21.
The Anderlecht academy product will be turning 21 on February 15, 2023 and is yet to feature for the Belgian senior national team that is among the favorites to win the upcoming Qatar world cup.
This leaves the troubled Kenya Football Federation (FKF) with a window to convince Matazo to switch allegiance.
