NOC-K President, Paul Tergat, flagged off the Kenya Team travelling to the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) World Shoot (Championship) in Pattaya, Thailand.

The World Shoot championship will be starting from November 16 to December 4, 2022.

The shooting event will feature over 3000 competitors and officials drawn from over 100 member countries, making it the largest practical shooting event in the world.

During the flagging off, the team handed over a Kenya Shooting Sports Federation (KSSF) T-shirt and a plaque to Paul Tergat as a thank-you gift.

According to the tournament organisers, the International attendees must arrive in Thailand only through the Suvarnabhumi International Airport and must inform the airlines that they are travelling with firearms.

Participants who wish to travel or holiday in Thailand before and/or after the competition have been given the option to deposit their firearms with the Tournament Organizers during that period for safe storage and transport to and from Suvarnabhumi International Airport.

However, there will have to pay for the additional service, which will cost Ksh12,168 ($100) per firearm for 10 days, payable in cash on the deposit of the firearm.

If one exceeds the 10 days, they will be charged an additional Ksh1,825 ($15) per day.

“We regret no credit cards can be accepted, cash payment only. Please refer below for details of handing over and receiving firearms,” the organisers noted.

The participants will receive their firearms from the Tournament Organisers' equipment check area at the Shooting Range on November 17 (Pre-Match) and November 23 (Main Match).
