Her huge leap was credited to her recent good performances, particularly in the two W15 tournaments held in Nairobi.
The 18-year-old amassed six out of the possible 10 points in the championship that was held at the Karen Country Club.
In the final of the singles category, which was staged on November 20, Okutoyi gave a spirited fight but ended up losing narrowly to Emily Seibold of Germany.
However, she redeemed herself by winning the doubles category alongside her Indian partner Bhasin Smriti.
Angella also picked up several historic wins in some of the Grand Slams tournaments that she graced, including the US Open, French Open, Wimbledon Open and the French Open.
She became the first Kenyan to bag the prestigious Wimbledon title on Saturday, July 9, alongside her Dutch teammate Rose Nijkamp.
Before the Wimbledon triumph, Okutoyi had won a Grand Slam junior match at the Australian Open, the first Kenyan to achieve that incredible feat.
In 2023, Okutoyi will be making her debut at the doubles category since she will be turning 19th on Sunday, January 29.
