Kenya Partners With France Ahead of Paris 2024 Olympics

The National Olympic Committee (NOC-K) has announced partnership deals with three organisations from France as the nation prepares for the 2024 Olympics Games. 

A delegation consisting of Nadia Ali, the City Councillor, Athletic Club Miramas and the City's Sports Department have been in the country at the invitation of NOC-K. 

A team of NOC-K delegation travelled to Miramas in June 2022 for an orientation visit.

“As Kenya prepares for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the NOC-K Executive initiated discussions of partnership with the following organisations in the South of France, the Department of Bouches-du-Rhône, Miramas and Miramas Athletics Club. 

“This partnership's main objective is to benefit individual athletes and teams in preparing for Paris 2024 Olympics,” part of the statement read. 

It was also noted that the partnership will go beyond the Paris 2024 Olympics. 

In a meeting held on December 6 between the NOC-K executive members and the team from Miramas, it was also deliberated that there would be an athletes' pre-games camp for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. 

In his statement, NOC-K President Paul Tergat noted that the partnership will help improve sports in Kenya. 

Kenya will be hoping o better its performance at the 2024 France Olympics, having won four gold, four silver and two bronze medals at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. 

France will host the 2024 Olympic Games from July 26 to August 11.
