
Matuga-based side Denmark FC was crowned the champions of the 2022 Rashid Abdalla Super Cup in a final staged at Waa Primary School in Kwale County.
Denmark was awarded Ksh1 million after walloping Lazium FC 2-0 in an entertaining match.
Kwale county governor, Fatuma Achani, was among the dignitaries who graced the finals.

Speaking during the award ceremony, the first female governor of the coastal county advised the winners to use the prize money wisely.
“Those players who will be lucky to get money today. I would like to urge them to spend their money wisely.
“So that tomorrow you remember you won a cup. This money looks like a lot of money but it is not.
“Please, let us engage in projects, and I am here to help you with additional cash,” stated Achani.
One of the players who participated in the finals urged the youths to remain focused and compete in such tournaments.
“The youths should take advantage of opportunities like this one. They will benefit a lot. They should remain focused and maintain discipline.
“If someone has a talent he should work on it and they will reap benefits from it,” he ended.
The tournament which started on Sunday, September 25, attracted more than 38 clubs.
According to Rashid, the main purpose of the games was to help the locals stay away from drugs.
