“As part of building stronger links between CAF, Schools, and students in Africa, CAF this week launched the African Schools Football Championship trophy design competition encouraging young designers to submit their creative designs,’ part of the statement by CAF read.

Those willing to participate are advised to submit their proposal via africanschoolstrophy(at)cafonline(dot)com.

According to Africa's football federation, the trophy design theme is “African Schools Football”.

CAF Director of Member Associations Sarah Mukuna noted that the federation was not only using the tournament for football only but also as a platform to create opportunities for African youth.

She added that the initiative is part of CAF President Patrice Motsepe’s vision to Invest in African Youth.

“Through the African Schools Football Championship trophy design competition, we want to reach out to young African designers to get involved and submit designs.

“We want the trophy to represent the aspirations and dreams of African kids. We are excited about this project and the possibilities,” Sarah Mukuna noted.

The tournament is set to take place between April 7 to 9, 2023 with the winner lifting the yet-to-be-designed trophy.
