
Uganda Cranes received Ksh67 million (UGX 2 billion) from the national government to help the team prepare for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN).
According to a statement by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) on its social media platform on Monday, December 26, noted that the funds will also help cater for some unpaid bills.
In the Annual National Budget of Uganda, the football federation is allocated Ksh575 million (UGX17 billion).

“FUFA has received from the Government of Uganda Ksh67 million (UGX 2 billion) as part of arrears to assist in preparations for Uganda Cranes squad ahead of the CHAN Finals.
“Part of the funds will also help in the settlement of arrears accrued as a result of the team's earlier engagements,” part of the statement read.
It was also revealed that out of the amount required to be received by the federation, only Ksh162 million (UGX 4.8 billion) has been disbursed.
The President of FUFA, Moses Magogo thanked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the First Lady Janet Museveni who is also the Minister of Education and Sports.
Uganda’s men's national team will fly out to Tunisia on January 1, 2023, for build-up matches before heading to Algeria for the tournament.
The Cranes will kick start the tournament on January 14, 2023, when they face DR Congo.
The tournament kicks off on January 13, 2023, with host nation Algeria playing Libya.
